Waiting at a Russian doctor's office. It is a rare case that I am watching Russian TV (we don't have cable at home and even less likely would I watch Russian channels). Knocked off by the fact that president Medvedev is discussing Russian athletes' failure at the Olympics in Vancouver at Yedinaya Rossiya meeting with the party leaders. Soviet times seem to have come back in Russia for real.

Save our heritage: the way to go
Mar. 1st, 2010 03:14 pmFollowing up the An-sky Jewish Folklore Council's constitutive meeting on January 27th, 2010, CTMD has launched a special web-site, or rather a blog,
Yiddish Song of the Week.
Its objective is to popularize lesser known Yiddish songs from the major privately kept collections in New York and elsewhere. If you had collected Yiddish songs yourself and you want to expose wider audiences to the treasure you own, feel free to submit your songs there. It's a non-commercial project run on a voluntary basis, so - no honoraries. But the true reward is there, it is priceless, and it does work for the future.
