After a month I have read a blogger's review of our Russian Jazz Improvisation night at JCC in Manhattan with Borislav Strulev, Leo Loginov Katz, Yana Manovskaya, and Mikhail Svetlov.
So, here it is. For some reason, all I played was called 'Russian'. I assume they think that if a musician's name sounds Russian, all s/he can play is just Russian music. What impressed me most, was mentioning the "Russian incantaitons" /русские заклинания (this stands probably for the klezmer-khazonic impros I played on the clarinet). Haha.
