...a hassle to store, hard to refer to in any meaningful way, subject to misinterpretation due to the overuse of cryptic signs, harsh on your eyes ... what else was wrong with the clay tablets? ;-)

yeah, that, too, of course. I suppose, your list of inefficiencies of clay tablets / SMS is quite complete :-)
but, darn, I like to use them for some unknown reason. WHY?...
