I saw Josh Horowitz at KlezKamp this year. The guy rocks! Unfortunately I did not have enough courage to come up and talk to him (I pestered Pete R. instead). Josh also has quite a sense of humor, as evident from his writings (did you see his "Ask Dr. Klez" on his website?)

And I love Alicia Svigals. She was kind enough to participate one time when Pete was teaching me how to play chords (as if she had nothing better to do in her free time). BTW, the work she covered in her ensemble class this year was pretty traditional.

hey, great that you are in the midst of the klezmerland:-) Yeah, I read "Ask Dr.Klez" on the Budowitz web-site. What Alicia does on her violin is good, but too much "krekhts" at my point :-) listen to the older recordings. Personally I never met that much of krekhtsn there. To me, much deeper and more traditional in this sense is Michael Alpert's style of fiddling, although when performing "sekund" part, he is closer to the Rumanian-Hungarian tradition than to the northern (Litvakian) one (see also Bob Cohen's considerations on the subject at www.dinayekapelye.com ).
